Habitat’s gala was a success!

On December 9, 2022, Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area hosted its first-ever Steel Toes and Stilettos Gala at The Machine Shop to raise money for its Blake Avenue build.

Nearly 200 guests, dressed to the nines, spent the evening mingling, playing games, bidding, dining, drinking, donating, and dancing the night away in support of affordable homeownership!

The event raised nearly $20,000 – with almost $9,000 in ticket sales, over $4,500 from the blind auction, and over $6,400 in donations and game token sales.

“This money we raised at the gala will go a long way in finishing our build on Blake Avenue, which Ahmad, Manal, and their three sons will call home in the near future,” states Chelsey Foucher, Fundraising & Marketing Coordinator.
