Thank you so very much for considering a donation of your materials to ReStore. We greatly appreciate your generosity and good will because we cannot exist without you. We currently accept donations of building materials, appliances, collectibles, antiques and artwork.

Three Easy Ways to Donate

  1. Fill out our online Donation Pick Up Form (below)
  2. Call us at (705) 941-9646 so we can discuss your donation.
  3. Drop off your items at the back of our building on 32 White Oak Dr. Our drop off area hours are Mon-Sat. 9:15am to 4:30pm. Please do not drop off items overnight.

Items we can accept:

  • Appliances (washers, dryers, stoves, fridges)
  • Antiques
  • Bathtubs (claw foot, acrylic)
  • Cabinets
  • Flooring
  • Doors
  • Electronics (working or not)
  • Windows
  • Lighting fixtures
  • Kitchen sinks
  • Lumber (clean with no nails)
  • Moldings
  • Plumbing fixtures 
  • New toilets
  • Furniture (dressers, tables, kitchen chairs, etc.)
  • Tools (hand & powered)
  • New cans of paint
  • New bottles or cans of cleaning products

Items we cannot accept:

  • Mattresses and Box Springs
  • Baby items/baby furniture
  • Used Toilets
  • Soft goods (clothing, bed linens, towels, shoes, etc)
  • MDF or pressboard furniture
  • Used cans of paint

Who Benefits From the ReStore?

Customers:
Save 50%-80% off retail prices on building materials, furniture, flooring, appliances, windows, unique home décor, plumbing, cabinetry, and so much more!

Donors:
By donating new or gently used building materials, furniture, and appliances, you can help improve our community. When you donate items to a ReStore, you may be eligible receive a tax receipt for the value of the item(s).

Families:
The proceeds from the ReStore cover HFHSSMA’s administrative costs. That means every dollar raised goes directly into building homes and strengthening communities.

Environment:
Whether you buy or donate materials, you are helping to reduce the amount of usable building materials being deposited into a landfill. For every $1 of product sold at a ReStore, approximately 1.3lbs of waste is diverted from local landfills

Community:
Our ReStore is 90% staffed by volunteers assisting HFHSSMA with our mission to build homes in partnership with hardworking, low income families in Sault Ste Marie. Volunteering with HFHSSMA is helping to build social capital through skill development, networking and mentoring opportunities.
